Mac Cosmetics - TBY3

Mac Cosmetics at the Big You 3 Event

Today I want to talk about the Mac Technique Workshop that I followed at The Big You 3 event wednesday. Do check my other post about it here. I was really looking forward to this workshop, I often use the Mac creme liner myself to accentuate my eyes. But other than doing my eyes or sometimes applying red lipstick, I'm a make-up noob. I really want to change this though, I always convinced myself I just like the natural look but I realize now I'm just lazy.

In the workshop we learned about the new spring trends. One is the "natural" look (yay for me), another is the bright lipsticks that are definitely here to stay. A third trend is accenting your eyebrows, although much more subtle than previous seasons. I have to admit I dislike thick eyebrows, I always make mine thinner because it makes my eyes bigger. As far as you can really see blonde brows anyways. In the workshop I accented my eyebrows with a light brown color, it made them more visible but I don't think I'll do it everyday. I did love the metallic eyeshadows we tried. They gave me a pink color which had me quite skeptical (I don't want to be a barbie and just because I have light skin and blue eyes that doesn't result in me liking pink…) But the color was actually perfect for my skin! It will give such a cool result in summer to appear eye-shadowless from afar but to have this nice glimmering effect from close-by.

After the eye-shadows we applied mascara (even if the trends stay away from mascara). Such an odd trend though, mascara is my number one make-up item I apply EVERY day. I never leave the house without it, it makes me feel 'naked' in a way. The mascara was from the new "Archie's Girls" line which will hit the stores soon. Lastly we tried the Morange lipstick trend. Orange definitely isn't my color AT ALL. It just looked ridiculous on me so I wiped it away soon. But other girls looked gorgeous in it and I'm quite jealous they can pull it off. "Mac Cosmetics" is one of the contests we can win. I'm so giddy about this one because the main prize is a 2,5 hour workshop for the blogger + 10 of her most loyal readers in a Mac store here in Belgium. Do I really want to take ten of you lovely girls with me to a workshop like that? I say a very loud YES!!
